Project description
An architectural competition for this project was held in 2025 and won by Snøhetta. The winning proposal involves setting aside around 70 per cent of the site for green spaces, a significant increase from the current 4 per cent. It includes a riverside promenade that improves the connection between the site and the city centre as well as a city beach, jetties and swimming facilities. In addition, it facilitates a new cultural centre, space for restaurants and urban life year-round.
